Somehow people have come to think of talent and skill as a thing you either have or you don’t, but that’s not true. Talent and skill are things you cultivate.
“Gifted,” “prodigy,” “natural-born talent” — meaningless terms, the lot of them. They’re linguistic apparitions without any actual referent.
Talent (so-called) is in actuality a long and methodical process that you hone through practice and repetition. It comes incrementally.
