Except that’s what left-wingers and right-wingers alike would have you believe.
Says California governor Jerry Brown, in a move many of us saw coming seven-hundred miles down the 101, “[These fires] are the new normal.”
To put that another way and as Rham Emmanuel once infamously said:
“Never let a good crisis go to waste.”
All the people who, for instance, swallowed An Inconvenient Truth will inhale this one hook, line, and bobber.
At least one left-wing news outfit, however, disagrees:
“These fires are not immediately emblematic of climate change,” said John Abatzoglou, an associate professor of geography and climate at the University of Idaho, in an email.
The real culprit?
A weak La Niña, most likely.
But facts won’t stop the catastrophist’s propaganda machine, of course. Of course.
Just for posterity, though, I’d like to point out a few of those facts — beginning with this one:
The world has never been safer, cleaner, and more climate proof.
You heard me right.
But don’t take my word for it.
From several left-leaning organizations, including World Bank, UNESCO, FAO, and the EPA, these were just released.
Study them a moment, please. They’re very easy to understand, and the conclusion is factual, overwhelming, and irrefutable:
Remember: anyone can say whatever anybody wants about anything. But that doesn’t make it true — particularly in this day-and-age when secularism has resoundingly taken over religion in its end-of-the-world predictions and scenarios.
There have always been disasters, and there always will be.
Technology, progress, and human innovation make us safer. Government bureaus and corrupt politicians do not.
Any assertion or alleged fact made by anyone — especially garden-variety right-wingers AND left-wingers — you must double-and-triple-check, because at least fifty percent of those assertions and alleged facts are inaccurate.
I beseech you not to buy into the propaganda machine.
I beg you to think for yourself.
